Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University [YCMOU] was established in the year 1989. Mr. Yashwant Chavan was a great politician and builder of modern Maharashtra. The University was duly recognized by the UGC and is the 5th Open University in India. The Common Wealth of Learning [COL] Canada was awarded to YCMOU. It is the Prestigious Award of “Excellence for Institutional Achievement” for the year 2002.
The University provides a variety of UG and PG programs in multiple disciplines. Admission for the same is done on Merit. At times the University conducts its own entrance exam.
